Pilots have the option to print the unique Imprimo frame design or make use of the included carbon frame. The 3D printed frame is a design marvel, snapping together seamlessly while providing extra sturdiness and durability and protection.

The 3D printed frame offers a wide choice of application, install the FPV option or keep the unit as light as possible for your line of sight indoor flying. A frame designed with a strong focus on its intended application, user friendliness, ease of use and simple maintenance. You crash hard – print your new frame in any color combination you like. You just require a printer with 100 mm X 100 mm printing size.

The Brain: Intuitive flight control

The flight control (FC) system is specifically developed for the Imprimo. It offers support for Betaflight parameter setting, Dshot 600, a choice of transmitter selection including FrSky, Spektrum and our very own Drone Art Xtreme V2 transmitter.

The top and bottom control boards (FC and ESC) are interconnected without the need to solder. The intuitive design with such a small footprint of just 20 mm X 20 mm even offers motor connectors allowing replacement of a defective board within minutes. Various integrated LEDs located at each corner provide important visual feedback.

There is everything a modern flight controller has to provide, 27 MHz, 256 kB, STM32F303CCT6 processor technology, 6 axis gyro including accelerometer, upgradeability and user parameter setting. The combination of the flight- and speed controller (ESC) work very well with any other custom frame.

The Drive: Brushless or nothing

A 4-in-1 speed controller with 20 Ampere power drives the 4 brushless 1103 motors with 7500 kV each. This is more that enough to drive the standard 1935 tri-blade propellers. The speed controller is Dshot 600 enabled for best performance and seamless integration with Betaflight.

Brushless motors have many advantages over their brushed motor counterparts. The most obvious advantage of a brushless motor is its lack of brushes and physical commutator. This difference means that there are many fewer parts that can wear out or break and need to be replaced than in a brushed motor.

The Imprimo isn’t a toy, it’s a brushless powerhouse full of energy, drive and durability.

The Innovative: ESC feature highlights

– First of its kind in the 20 mm X 20 mm size to offer corner LEDs (blue) for illumination.
– MOSFET for each individual ESC, ensuring clean power to all 4 ESC motor drivers.
– Capable of handling up to 5S power, which is impressive for a 20 mm X 20 mm size ESC.
– FC and ESC both quickly snap together with an inter-board connector.

The Versatility: FPV anytime, anywhere

The FPV enabled Imprimo has an onboard super crisp full HD camera with recording function and reliable 5.8 GHz video transmission. 32 GB MicroSD cards are supported. The FPV transmitter provides 22 channels by default. It allows to unlock to 48 channels including Raceband via MicroSD card.

Use the included carbon frame to fly the Imprimo in line of sight or use the 3D printed frame instead to utilize the full FPV capabilities. FPV, or “First Person View” allows you to fly the Imprimo from the pilot’s perspective. It’s fun indoors and outdoors, precisely maneuvering around obstacles.

Record your flight experience in crisp full HD quality (1080p). Share your most exciting onboard moments with your friends. The Imprimo is compatible with virtually any FPV Goggles and FPV receiver available in the market thanks to its wide frequency range. It is also compatible to the Drone Art Xtreme V2 transmitter.

Feedback during flight is important. The Imprimo has a set of tiny LEDs integrated in each corner of the upper FC and lower ESC board. The multi-colored LEDs provide visual feedback such as flight mode and error codes or even FPV frequency selected.

Replacing a damaged motor, flight- or speed controller is easy. Despite its very small footprint of just 20 mm X 20 mm the flight controller and speed controller use reliable sockets for motor connectors and board interconnectors. It ensures quick and easy maintenance work.

I was asked by the developer to assemble the Imprimo since I am a complete novice if it comes to building drones, so that the developer could validate the ease of concept. I was positively surprised how easy it was to build the Imprimo while enjoying a rather interesting learning experience. Now I may call myself no longer a novice.

To my surprise, after endless rounds of testing, I am rather impressed with the mechanical strength of the 3D printable frame. Not only is it easy to replace, it just snaps into place and if I want, I can just mount the included carbon frame with no soldering required. Love it!

The request was to have us build a micro brushless drone that allows for easy assembly without the need to solder. I am really amazed how well we worked hand in hand with the mechanical design team to accomplish our goal. The Imprimo is not just fun to fly, it’s even more fun to build.

Get Your Imprimo!

There are 3 model versions and 2 protocol options available. Please make your two choices during the order process.

Model Options
Choose from the model you prefer. The FPV-HD version allows recording of full 1080p HD videos while the FPV version provides best performance at a lower video resolution  for a true FPV experience without the option to record. Both FPV versions provide a 5.8 GHz analog video transmission. The base Imprimo version has no camera installed but allows to be future upgraded by the user.

Protocol Options
All Imprimo versions are available in two receiver protocol options. Choose Spektrum® if you plan to use your existing Spektrum® DSMX® or compatible radio transmitter. The Spektrum® option is compatible with the Xtreme V2 transmitter as well. The FrSky® option supports popular FrSky® radios like the Taranis® radio series. The Frsky® protocol Imprimo is only compatible with the International (non-EU) firmware. If your Frsky radio has the EU (LBT) firmware the Frsky® Imprimo will not bind.
